Eyelid Lift Procedure Information
- Local or general anesthesia can be used and the eyelid lift procedure takes about two hours
- The location of incisions will vary depending upon the part of the eyelid being lifted; however, incisions can typically be hidden within an eyelid crease
- Excess fat and skin are removed and the incision is carefully sutured to minimize scarring
- All sutures are usually removed in 4 to 6 days
Recovery from Eyelid Lift Plastic Surgery
- Initial discomfort is mild, and can be controlled with oral medications prescribed by Dr. Pittman–Waller
- Mild bruising can last up to two weeks
- Swelling improves daily, and is normally gone within one to two weeks
- Eye makeup can be used after sutures are removed
- Contact lenses can be worn when comfortable, usually in about a week
